Golden Horse Minerals (ASX: GHM) has delivered a standout set of drilling results at its Hopes Hill project, reinforcing the asset’s emergence as a potentially large-scale gold system in Western Australia’s prolific Southern Cross region.
The latest diamond drilling has intersected high-grade gold with visible mineralisation, marking a significant step forward in understanding both the scale and continuity of the deposit.

The headline result from hole 26HHDD010 returned:
16.0m @ 6.8 g/t Au from 115m, including
1.0m @ 98.4 g/t Au, within
8m @ 13.1 g/t Au
Crucially, visible gold was observed within the footwall lode, an area historically underexplored by previous operators.
This intercept sits approximately 830m north of a previously reported high-grade hole, suggesting strong continuity along strike and significantly expanding the known mineralised footprint.

A key driver behind these results is Golden Horse’s consolidation of the tenement package. Historically, drilling was restricted by fragmented tenure, limiting exploration beyond the existing pit.
Now, with control over a contiguous landholding, the company is systematically testing areas that were previously inaccessible — particularly north of the historic Hopes Hill pit, where this latest success was delivered.
The historic operation itself produced approximately 216koz of gold, but new drilling indicates the system extends well beyond these mined boundaries.
Beyond the headline intercept, a series of additional results from recent drilling further reinforce the scale opportunity:
13.6m @ 3.0 g/t Au from 308.4m (including 3m @ 8.3 g/t)
6.0m @ 3.15 g/t Au from 323m
6.1m @ 1.3 g/t Au from 414.9m
These results demonstrate consistent mineralisation at depth and along strike, with extensions confirmed:
To the north (new discovery zone)
To the south (including shallow high-grade intercepts)
Below the historic pit, highlighting vertical continuity
Drilling across Hopes Hill is now outlining a mineralised trend exceeding 2.5km in strike length, with multiple lodes and structural zones contributing to the system.
Geologically, mineralisation is hosted within a quartz-sericite schist associated with ultramafic contacts, typical of structurally controlled orogenic gold systems.
Importantly, the footwall lode — now confirmed to host visible gold — was largely overlooked historically, presenting a new vector for high-grade discovery.
Golden Horse is executing an ambitious 125km drilling program in 2026, targeting:
Strike extensions along the Frasers Shear Zone
Depth extensions below current intercepts
Infill drilling to define resource continuity
Current drilling is ongoing, with results expected to be released progressively as assays are returned.
The combination of:
Visible gold in multiple locations
Wide, high-grade intercepts
Expansion beyond historical mining limits
A growing structural understanding
…is rapidly shifting Hopes Hill from a historical gold pit to a potential large-scale gold system.
With significant untested zones still remaining — including an ~830m gap between key high-grade intercepts — the project offers substantial upside as drilling continues.
Golden Horse’s latest results at Hopes Hill mark a pivotal moment in the project’s evolution. The confirmation of visible gold in a previously underexplored lode, combined with strong grades and expanding strike length, is building a compelling case for scale.
As drilling continues across newly accessible ground, Hopes Hill is increasingly positioning itself as a major gold growth story in the Southern Cross region.
