IRIS Metals Limited has reported strong results from its Phase I diamond drilling program at the Edison Project in South Dakota. The drilling confirmed high grade lithium mineralisation across multiple spodumene bearing pegmatites, expanding the project’s resource potential.

The program included 15 holes for a total of 2,278 metres. Key new results included 6.65 metres at 3.30 percent Li₂O from 54.6 metres in hole EDD 25 009, and 2.95 metres at 2.76 percent Li₂O from 95.3 metres in hole EDD 25 007. These followed earlier results such as 13.4 metres at 1.78 percent Li₂O from 41.5 metres, including 7.0 metres at 2.22 percent Li₂O.
IRIS Metals said the drilling confirmed continuity of pegmatite bodies across structural offsets and that all pegmatites remain open at depth. The company noted the results highlight significant opportunities to extend the mineralisation and support future resource estimates.
President of US Operations Matt Hartmann said the Edison Project has delivered some of the highest grade lithium intercepts recorded in the Black Hills region. He added that the findings underscore the district scale potential of the company’s South Dakota portfolio.
The Edison Project, located near Keystone, includes the historic Edison Mine, once owned by Thomas Edison. IRIS Metals plans to begin Phase II drilling later this year to further define resources, with a project study expected to be completed in early 2026.
